After completion of the work in this session the student will:
- Be able to give a brief discussion of neural tube defects as a result of faulty embryonal and fetal development.
- Understand the major principles of the development of the position of the intestinal tract, including the understanding of omphalocele gastroschisis and midgut mairotation.
- Be able to recognize normal basic fetal anatomy on ultrasound.
- Understand the difference between cartilage growth abnormalities and abnormalities of ossification in general.
- Understand the developing abnormalities of heart and kidney.
- Know the location of the 4 chambers of the heart on PA and on lateral chest x-rays.
