SLIDE TRAY #8
X-RAY: Normal scout film. Film of abdomen including kidneys ureters and bladder (KUB film) in supine position. Small amount of gas and feces in the GI tract mostly in the region of the hepatic flexure. The outline of left kidney is visualized contrasted by the perirenal fat in the left upper quadrant of the abdomen with its axis parallel to the margin of left psoas muscle. Right kidney shadow is obliterated by GI tract. This film is important in assessing kidney size, shape, position and abnormal calcifications in the abdomen. |
